Harry Winfield “Winn” Reiblich, Sr., 96, of Hanover, passed peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018 at Hanover Hall. He was the loving husband, for 69 years, of Martha M. (Murray) Reiblich who died July 2, 2011.
Born March 1, 1921 in Woodlawn, MD, he was the son of the late Harry A. and Maggie Ann (Clay) Reiblich.
Harry was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Hanover. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. He played in the Washington Nationals farm system until his WWII wound ended his career. Winn was employed with Bethlehem Steel, Sparrows Point, MD for more than 30 years. He enjoyed all outdoor activities including hunting, fishing and camping.
Mr. Reiblich is survived by his children, Nancy L. Furbay, Barbara W. Hale, Connie Stiff and Harry W. Reiblich, Jr., all of Hanover; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Emma Jean Virginia Lee, Arthur Clay Reiblich, Ralph Douglas Reiblich and Bertha Elizabeth Vaughn.
A service to celebrate the life of Harry “Winn” Reiblich will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA with Rev. Fred Mummert officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Monday evening from 6 to 8pm and again on Tuesday from 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery where full military honors will be provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
