Kenneth A. Mellott, 71, of New Oxford, beloved husband of Debbie Mellott, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at his home.
Born on Sunday, August 20, 1944 in Hancock, MD, he was the son of the late Charles K. Mellott and Juna Hoyle Hauman. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Mellott. Kenneth served with the US Army and retired in 2004 from the Baltimore City Police Department after 30 years of service.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 16 years, is a daughter, Kimberly Ann Lee and her husband, Robert, of Dundalk, MD; a sister, Bonnie G. Burger and her husband, Wayne, of New Oxford; five grandchildren, Corey Mellott, Stephen Stump, Brandon Lee, Toni Mellott and Adam Dasher; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 am Monday, June 20, 2016 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Douglas C. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery with military rites being rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 3 to 5 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
