Richard A. Farinelli, 78, of Hanover, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the Colonial park Care Center, Harrisburg, PA.
Born November 25, 1933 in Staten Island, NY, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Eleanor (Carmelengo) Farinelli. Richard was the loving husband of Florence E. (Sienkiewicz) Farinelli with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.
Richard was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Hanover, PA. He was a boiler Engineer having worked for various companies over the years and retiring from Orient Chemical.
Richard was a veteran of the United States Navy having served his country proudly during the Korean Conflict.
Richard was an avid model ship builder, enjoyed target shooting, and flying model planes.
In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by two sons, Michael J. Farinelli and wife Karen of Spring Grove, PA, Richard J. Farinelli of Hanover, PA, two grandsons, Nicholas and Christopher, two sisters, Lillian Pristera and Antoinette Freeman both of Staten Island, NY and one brother, Jerry Farinelli of Staten Island.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 220 Third Street, Hanover, PA, with Father John A. Szada, Jr. as celebrant. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, PA. The Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard will provide Military Honors.
