Eugene Thomas Grizzell, 84, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Sunday, May 8, 2022, at UPMC Memorial in York, PA.
Born September 7, 1937, in Hanover, PA, Eugene was the son of the late Henry H. & Martha E. (Byard) Grizzell. He was the loving husband to Helen B. (Engleman Clingenpeel) Grizzell with whom he shared over 60 years of marriage.
Eugene was a graduate of Hanover (Eichelberger) High School class of 1955.
Eugene was a veteran, serving his country proudly in the US Army. After his military service, he worked at Black & Decker in the shipping department for 28 years. Later, he was employed at Weis Market, working in customer service for over 20 years.
In his free time, Eugene enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his loving family.
In addition to his wife Helen, Eugene is survived by his children, Patricia (Clingenpeel) Reese of Adamstown, PA, Steven Grizzell & wife Bonnie of York, PA, and Donna Wagner & husband Brian of Hanover, PA, and 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a sister, Arlene Simpson of Baltimore, MD. Eugene was preceded in death by two sons, Mark A. Grizzell and Thomas J. Clingenpeel, and two sisters, Eleanor Gearheart and Viola Rodowsky.
A funeral service to remember Eugene’s life will be held 10 AM, Friday, May 13, 2022, at Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA 17331, with Rev. Dr. B. Michael Brossman officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held 7-9PM, Thursday, May 12, 2022, and 9-10AM, Friday, May 13, 2022, at the funeral home.
