SOUTHLAKE, TX Patrick J. Moses, 85, formerly of New Oxford, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2009, in Texas. Born June 5, 1923, in New Cumberland, he was a son of the late John F. and Marguerite (Brownwell) Moses.
Mr. Moses attended high school in New Cumberland. He enlisted in the Army and served as a B-29 tail gunner. After Gettysburg College, his career included serving as treasurer of Boardwalk National Bank, as supervising financial analyst at FDIC, and as president of the Bank of South Palm Beach.
Mr. Moses was married for nearly 60 years to Margaret "Peg" (Firor) Moses. They attended White's Chapel United Methodist Church in Texas and were longstanding members of the St. Paul of the Pines Lutheran Church in Pennsylvania. He was an avid genealogist, a 32d Degree Mason, and joined the Sons of the American Revolution. Pat enjoyed pheasant hunting, and working on sports cars, go-karts, and model trains with his children.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret "Peg" Moses; children, John Moses and wife, Elizabeth of N. Potomac, Md., Robert Moses and wife, Mary Anne of Gaithersburg, Md., Liz Wilson and husband, Jerry of Fort Collins, Colo., and Susan Lord and husband, Jon of Southlake, Texas; grandchildren, John Moses, Carolyn Moses, Colleen Moses, Kenneth Moses, Jamie Moses, Patrick Moses, Sara Moses, and Robert Moses, K.C. Woulfe, Michelle Wilson, Brittany Wilson, and Kaitlyn Lord; and great-grandchildren, Madeliene, Lily, and John Kenneth Moses.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with the Rev. Benson Paull of St. Paul's (The Pines) Lutheran Church, New Oxford, officiating. The family will receive friends 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, with full military honors provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
