Obituary

Janet I. Frock, 86, of Hanover, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Brethren Home Community, New Oxford.

Born November 27, 1925 in New Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late Curtis A. Rummel and Grace A. (Groscost) Rummel Lehigh. Janet was the wife of the late Howard A. Frock, Sr. who died, September 3, 2005.

Janet was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, New Oxford.

Mrs. Frock was employed by Doubleday Book Company where she worked as a book inspector for 15 years. She retired in 1989 from the former W.E. Bittinger Company of Hanover after approximately 15 years of service.

Janet enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting and sewing blankets for her children. She also loved nature, especially gardening. Her most treasured accomplishment was raising her three children.

Janet is survived by two daughters, Patricia Lahman and husband, Robert of Hanover, PA, Barbara J. Frock of East Berlin, PA, one son, Howard A. Frock, Jr. and wife Lois of New Oxford, PA, three grandchildren, Michele Myers and husband Matt of York, PA, Terry H. Frock and wife Anna of Gettysburg, PA, Lindsay R. Frock of Mechanicsburg, PA, three step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, Hunter Morela of York, PA, Jacob Frock, Zeke Frock, both of Gettysburg, PA, eight step-great grandchildren, one sister, Ruth Groft of New Oxford, PA, one brother, Fred Rummel of Hanover,PA, sister-in-law, Faye Frock of Norristown, PA, sister-in-law, Pauline Rummel of New Oxford, PA, sister-in-law Ann Rummel of Hanover, PA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph Rummel, Orville Rummel, Lloyd Rummel, Cyril Rummel and sister, Blanche Bixler.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover,PA with her pastor, the Rev. Rob Shoup officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
