Obituary

Anna A. Smith, 86, of Hanover, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Monday, November 14, 2011 at Homewood at Plum Creek Nursing Center.

Born June 1, 1925 in Melrose, MD, she was the daughter of the late Mark U. and Hilda J. (Shauck) Horick. Anna was the loving wife of the late George H. Smith who died December 6, 2007.

Anna was a member of St. David's (Sherman) United Church of Christ, Hanover, PA where she was active in the Search Light Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the National AARP, the Homewood at Plum Creek Auxiliary and the Democratic Club.

She enjoyed crocheting, working with flowers as well as shopping and crafts.

Anna is survived by three sons, George H. Smith, Jr. of Spring Grove, PA, Robert L. Smith and his wife Sheridan of York, PA, John M. Smith and his wife Linda of Thomasville, PA, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one brother Donald L. Horick of Dover, PA. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Gwen Smith and one brother, M. Eugene Horick.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Anna's life will be held 11 AM Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, PA, with her Pastor the Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10 " 11 AM, Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the funeral home.

Serving as casketbearers will be Michael Smith, David Smith, Matthew Smith, Zachary Smith, Tyler Smith, Grayson Smith and Austin Smith. Serving as honorary casketbearer will be her granddaughter, Jackie Cunningham.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Anna may be made to St. David's (Sherman) United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
