Lester C. Myers, 87, of Hanover, entered into God's eternal kingdom, Friday, February 27, 2009, at Hanover Hospital.
Born September 20, 1921, in York County, he was the son of the late Russell J. and Beulah M. Myers, Sr. Lester was the loving husband of Katherine Sue (Williams) Myers, to whom he was married for 64 years.
Lester retired from the York Local Carpenters Union in 1980 and was a United States Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
In his free time he enjoyed building houses and anything to do with carpentry.
In addition to his wife, Katherine, he is survived by three children, Linda S. Myers, Steven B. Myers, both of Hanover, and Scott A. Myers, of New Chester, PA; one grandson, Bruce J. Myers and wife, Bryin, of Hanover; five brothers, Luther Myers, of Louisiana, Robert Myers, of York, Russell Myers, Jr., Francis Myers, and Harold E. Myers, all of Hanover; and three sisters, Sarah Ann Myers, Shirley Knox, and Etta Jane Myers, all of Hanover.
Besides his parents, Lester was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Myers and William K. Myers.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Baltimore Street, Hanover, with Rev. Timothy J. Kielley officiating.
