Eleanor P. Hickey, 93, of Hanover, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the Homewood at Plum Creek Nursing Center.
Born January 24, 1917 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edmond J. and Tillie N. (Roth) Powers. She was the loving wife of the late Dennis J. Hickey, Sr. who died October 17, 1990.
Eleanor was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Hanover, PA.
Eleanor is survived by two children, Dennis J. Hickey, Jr. and his wife Shirley of Bensalem, PA and their daughter Elizabeth, and Susan Breech and her husband Thomas of East Berlin, PA, and their daughter Rebecca. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary E. Anderson.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Eleanor's life will be held 11 AM, Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA with her Pastor the Rev. Patricia Leader officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A time to share memories with the family will be held from 10 -11 AM, Friday, October 29, 2010 at the funeral home. As per Eleanor's wishes there will be no public viewing.
