Lois M. Donsen, 83, of Hanover, wife of C. Edwin “Ed” Donsen, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at UPMC Hanover.

Born on Tuesday, January 9, 1940 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Gerald L. and Vivian Arentz Eline. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Eline; and a brother-in-law, Craig Warner. A 1957 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, she was a longtime employee of the former Jones and Good Insurance, which later became Bell Insurance. Lois was currently employed at Shepherd Aluminum. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and was a past president of the Penn Township Lioness Club. Lois thoroughly enjoyed playing cards with her card club, traveling with Ed to Florida, and baking and feeding friends and family. Moreover, her greatest joy was caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of 66 years, survivors include two sons, Edwin M. Donsen, and Jeff A. Donsen and his wife, Kathy, all of Hanover; two grandchildren, Nathan Donsen of Kittanning, and Krista Woods and her husband, Justin, of Dover; two-great-grandchildren, Bennett and Kylie Woods; two sisters, Jean Timmins and her husband, Bob, and Joanne Warner, all of Hanover; a brother, Robert Eline and his wife, Linda, of East Berlin; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 25, 2023 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Hanover with The Rev. Faye C. Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends at viewings from 6-8:00 PM Thursday at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway in Hanover, and at the church one hour prior to the service.
