Burnell K. Geiman, 82, of Hanover, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at his residence.
Born April 20, 1933 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Edgar V. and Hilda L. (Leese) Geiman. He was the loving husband of Dawn C. (Descheemaeker) Geiman with whom he shared55 years of marriage.
Burnell was a 1951 graduate of Hanover High School. He graduated in 1957 from York Junior College.
Mr. Geiman was a veteran of the United States Air Force. During part of this time, he was stationed in Iceland and had top secret clearance as a Tela-Type Operator.
He retired in 1993 following 31 years of service from the United States Post Office where he was employed as a Postal Clerk. Following his retirement, he worked at Weis Market of Hanover part-time for ten years.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Hanover where he served as an usher for 30 years. Burnell was also a life member of the Amvets Post #22 of Hanover.
In addition to his wife, Burnell is survived by his daughter, Julie Geiman of Hanover, PA, his nephew, Donavon Holmes of Hanover, PA, his brother, Gerald Geiman and his wife Ruth of Hanover, PA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Geiman, Harold Geiman and sister, Judy Geiman.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, June 19, 2015 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA with Rev. Timothy J. Kielley officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover,PA. A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM, Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the funeral home and from 10-11 AM, Friday at the funeral home.
Full military honors will be provided by the Hanover Allied Honor Guard.
Serving as casketbearers will be Robert Descheemaeker, Jr., Joseph Descheemaeker, Clint Descheemaeker, Bryant Descheemaeker, Kyle Descheemaeker and Richard Howes, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Burnell may be made to New Hope Christian Ministries Church, 33 Sunday Drive, Hanover, PA 17331.
