Born December 2, 1946 in Hanover, he was the son of the late Emory B. Schwartz, Jr. and Doris C. Baker Schwartz. He was a graduate of Hanover High School.
Mr. Schwartz was employed at Graham Packaging Company in York for the last 15 years. He had also operated South Hanover Lanes for many years and was a former co-owner of Spring Grove Lanes. An avid bowler, he won many trophies and awards, and was a member of state and national bowling leagues. He enjoyed watching baseball and hockey, especially the Pittsburgh Penguins, and following the Hershey Bears.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of nearly 13 years, is his sister, Barbara A. Schwartz of New Oxford; a step-daughter, Toni Brutko of Harrisburg; and his special dog, “Blu”.
The family will receive friends at the viewing 6-8:00 pm Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday at Mount Olivet Cemetery with The Rev. Thomas H. Jacobs officiating.
