Elizabeth Frederick Hershey, 98 of New Oxford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Brethren Home Community. She was the loving wife of the late Arthur S. Hershey, who passed away in July of 1991.
Born December 28, 1915 in Lineboro, MD, she was a daughter of the late Charles V. and Cora B. (McCullough) Frederick.
Elizabeth worked at Hanover Glove Company for over 40 years and was a devoted, lifelong member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. In Elizabeth’s free time she enjoyed making needle point artwork and spending time with her family.
Elizabeth is survived by a brother, John C. Frederick, Sr. of Hanover; five nephews, John C. Frederick, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Hanover, Grant B Frederick and his wife Ann of McSherrystown, Lance A. Frederick and his wife Chris of Hanover, Robert Davidson and his wife Lynne of Manchester, MD, Eugene Riffle and his wife Nancy of Gettysburg; two nieces, Linda Hamilton and her husband Stanley of Manchester, MD, and Elaine Eiker and her husband Richard of Newark, De; and many other loving great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by, four siblings, Jacob Frederick, Mary Frederick, Isabelle Davidson, Dorothy Riffle and nephew Larry “Skip” Davidson.
