Catherine E. Jones, 94, of Hanover, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at her daughter's home.
Born December 31, 1916 in Pleasant Valley, MD, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Eta (Highmiller) Helwig. Catherine was the loving wife of the late Gilbert S. Jones who died September 5, 2002.
Catherine retired from the former Jackson shoe company after many years of service. She enjoyed cooking and baking as well as reading and going to church.
Catherine is survived by one daughter, Yvonne C. Smith of Edgewood, MD, six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, and one sister.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Catherine's life will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Pastor David Sanger officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A time to view and share memories with the family will be held from 1 to 2 PM, Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the funeral home.
