Nadine H. (Yingling) Mummert, 89, died at The Brethren Home Community at 5:20 pm on December 17, 2010. She was the beloved wife of the late Merle K. Mummert who died in 1994. A funeral service in celebration and thanksgiving for her life will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service PC, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove with Rev. Larry Smith M.D. officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband following the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hanover. Viewings will be held on Monday from 6-8 pm and on Tuesday from 9-10 am at the funeral home. Nadine was born in Hanover on April 20, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Helen (Yost) and Herbert Yingling. She graduated from Eichelberger High School Class of 1939. She worked for Revonah Spinning Mills in Hanover for over 25 years. Nadine was a member of Mt. Zion United Church of Christ in Spring Grove for many years. She was a former member of Spring Grove Fire Co. Women’s Auxiliary and the Nashville Fire Co. Women’s Auxiliary and Windy Hill Senior Center. She also enjoyed playing Bingo at the fire halls for many years. Nadine is survived by her daughters Jane Earnst and her husband Charles of Spring Grove and Barbara Guyton and her husband Dennis of Hanover; her sons Larry J. Mummert and his wife Beverly of Spring Grove, Donald R. Mummert of Spring Grove and William J. Mummert and his wife Barbara of York; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Mildred Hahn and her husband Robert of Hanover and her brother Harold Yingling of Maryland. She was predeceased by her brother Richard Yingling.
