OBITUARY
Mary E. Noble, 98, of New Oxford and formerly of Hanover, passed peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at The Brethren Home. She was the loving wife, for 76 years, of Lester Bish Noble who died January 14, 2014.
Born February 9, 1919 in Hanover she was the daughter of the late George H. and Annie (Craumer) Hempfing.
Mrs. Noble was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Broadway in Hanover. She worked as a cook for Paul’s Pub in Hanover and later for a number of years at the Mark Stevens Restaurant.
She is survived by her son Ray L. Noble, Carbondale, PA and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Noble was preceded in death by her siblings; Sarah Stiffler, Gertrude Stauffer, Curtis Hempfing, Mamie Cox and Russell Hempfing.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, February 23 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 725 Baltimore St., Hanover with Rev. Larry McConnell officiating.
