OBITUARY
Lester Bish “Les” Noble, 98, of New Oxford and formerly of Hanover, passed peacefully on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Hanover Hospital. He was the loving husband of Mary E. (Hempfing) Noble for 76 years.Born March 12, 1915 in West Manheim Twp., York Co., he was a son of the late Benjamin F. and Goldie (Bish) Noble.
Mr. Noble was veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Broadway, Hanover. He was employed with Riley Welding, Hanover Bronze and Aluminum and Trimmen Industries prior to his retirement.
In addition to his wife Mary, Les is survived by a son Ray L. Noble, Carbondale, PA; a sister Margaret Brown, Hanover and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother Benjamin F. Noble, Jr.; a step sister, Hilda Myers and two step brothers, Roy and Harry Zumbrum.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 725 Baltimore St., Hanover with Rev. Terrence McCarthy officiating.
