Obituary

Treva May (Grogg) Garrett, 98, of Hanover, PA, entered into God's eternal care Sunday, June 7, 2009 at the Homewood at Plum Creek Nursing Center.

Born April 24, 1911 in the Village of Black Rock, York County, PA, she was the daughter of the late George R. and Amanda E. (Walker) Grogg. She was the loving wife of the late Stewart W. Garrett who died on November 3, 1983. 

Treva was a member of St. David's (Sherman) United Church of Christ in Hanover, as well as the national and local A.A.R.P..

Mrs. Garrett worked for over twenty-one years in assembly at the Freeman Shoe Company, having retired in 1973. 

Treva truly enjoyed reading, gardening and babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. While she was a resident at Homewood she enjoyed may of the various activities throughout the community. 

Treva is survived by her son, Bernard L. Garrett and wife Dolores of Hanover, PA, her grandchildren, Diane E. Kline and husband Jeffery R. Kline, Karen A. LeGore and husband Donald M. LeGore and Shawn D. Garrett and wife Jamie M. Garrett all of Hanover, PA, and her great-grandchildren, Neal T. LeGore, Kirsten R. Kline, Justin R. Kline, and Adam J. LeGore, and Drake A. Garrett all of Hanover, PA. She was preceded in death by two brothers Curvin W. Grogg and John H. Grogg

A service to remember and celebrate Treva's life will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, June 10th, 2009, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with her Pastor, the Rev. Scott A. Sager, officiating.  Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
