Obituary
Born on Wednesday, December 7, 1932 in Harney, MD, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Ruth Ohler Stambaugh. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, William H. Wentz, who died in 2018; a brother, Charles E. “Bud” Stambaugh; and three sisters, Mildred Rummel, Lucille Zepp and Janice Myers. Verna was a 1950 graduate of Spring Grove High School and was a longtime employee of Sears, with more than 30 years of service. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, where she was active with the tape ministry and served as a Cub Scout Den Mother for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and providing for them, gardening and cooking.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth A. Wentz and his wife, Debra, of East Berlin; a daughter, Kimberly D. Markey and her husband, Robin, of Etters; a granddaughter, Allison of Bangor, ME; and a large extended family.
A private service will be held with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
