Obituary
Francis R. Zartman, Sr., 85, of Hanover, went into the Lord’s hands Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of the late Nadine A. (Geiman) Zartman, who died July 21, 1983.
Born May 4, 1922, in Hanover, he was a son of the late Chauncey E. and Carrie E. (Shanebrook) Zartman.
Mr. Zartman was a member of Lohr's Memorial United Methodist Church, Hanover, for over fifty years where he served as head communion usher. He was employed with R.H. Sheppard for 39 years until his retirement in 1992. A veteran of the US Army, Mr. Zartman served his country during World War II. He was a life member of the Harold H. Bair Post 14 American Legion and the National AARP.
Mr. Zartman was a member of the First United Methodist Men's Group where he regularly served their pancake breakfast. He was instrumental in starting the Mall Walkers at the North Hanover Mall, and he loved tending to his flower garden in his free time.
Surviving are five daughters, Pat Moul and husband Ron of Glenville, Linda Wagaman and husband Jeff of Hanover, Susan E. Shue and husband David W. of Hanover, Judy Swartz of Dauphin, PA, and- Trudy Starner of Hanover; one sister, Anna Brady of Hanover; one brother, Norman Zartman of Thomasville; fourteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Francis R. Zartman, Jr.; a daughter, Peggy J. Miller; two brothers, Eugene Zartman and Edward Zartman; and five sisters, Dorothy Grim, Amanda Clouser, Amelia Bankert, Effie Kipple, and Enora Feeser.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Lohr’s Memorial United Methodist Church, 200 E. Middle St., Hanover, with Rev. Samuel Velez officiating. A viewing will be held between 6 and 8 p.m. Monday at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, where full military honors will be provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Spencer Moul, Timothy Shue, Christopher Shue, Thomas Shue, Joseph Starner, and Jason Wagaman.

Obituary
Francis R. Zartman, Sr., 85, of Hanover, went into the Lord’s hands Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of the late Nadine A. (Geiman) Zartman, who died July 21, 1983.
