Herbert C. Klinedinst, 83, of Hanover, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Hanover Hall Nursing Center.
Born November 23, 1931 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Wilmer and Nettie (Myers) Klinedinst. Herbert was the loving husband of Shirley A. Klinedinst with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.
Herbert served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force.
He retired from Giant Grocery Store of Hanover where he worked as a receiver and supervisor. Prior to his employment at Giant, Herbert worked for the former Sterner's Grocery.
Mr. Klinedinst was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Hanover. He was also a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks #763, the Moose Lodge #227, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2506, American Legion Post #14, AMVETS Post #22 all of Hanover as well as the Republican Club of Hanover.
In addition to his wife Shirley, Herbert is survived by his step-sons Jeffrey R. Sneeringer and his wife Lisa of Hanover, PA, Lindsay R. Sneeringer and his fiancAC. Amelia Mendigorin of Spring Grove, PA, his step-daughter, Kimberly A. Gladfelter and her husband Robert of Glenville, PA, seven step-grandchildren, Larry Sneeringer, James Gladfelter, Derrick Sneeringer, Morgan Sneeringer, Matthew Gladfelter, Breanna Sneeringer, Joshua Gladfelter as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Millard Klinedinst, his sisters, Dorothy Sterner, Leona Hamme and Nadine Strittmatter.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Terrance McCarthy officiating. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
Serving as casket bearers will be James Gladfelter, Matthew Gladfelter, Derrick Sneeringer, Robert Gladfelter, Larry Hamme and Dean Hartlaub. Honorary casket bearer will be Joshua Gladfelter.
Full military honors will be provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
