Esther M. Blettner, 90, of Dillsburg, passed away Friday, April 10, 2009 at the Sarah Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle. She was born April 18, 1918 in Adams County, PA the daughter of the late Curvin & Mary Staub Carbaugh. Esther was a retired Secretary having worked at the Dental Clinic of the US Army Barracks in Carlisle. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Boiling Springs and a graduate of Eichelberger High School - Class of 1935 in Hanover. She was also a 50 year member of Eastern Star Old BelAir Chapter No. 375, Carlisle; the Sons of the Union Auxillary, Carlisle; the Dillsburg Golden Agers; NARFE and AARP. She was the widower of the late Ralph C. Blettner. Esther is survived by her loving family: Three Daughters: Linda L. Greer, of Fairfax Station, VA; Marie E. Boyer, of Dillsburg and Joyce E. Cover, of The Villages, Florida: 3 Grandchildren: Jessica Habecker, Thomas Greer, III and Charles Greer. 2 Great-Grandsons: Hunter Habecker and Ean Greer. Esther was also survived by her companion, Curtis Myers, of Carlisle. Services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 am, April 14, 2009 at the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut Street, Dillsburg, PA. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A viewing will be held Tuesday, from 10-11 am, one hour prior to the service with an Eastern Star Service to be held at 10:45 am.
