Obituary for Robert L. Bixby
Born on Monday, January 14, 1957 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Royal Charles Bixby and Elizabeth Lewis Fitz Bixby. He was also preceded in death by his former wife of 24 years, Deborah Ann Bixby, who died in 2021; a sister, Virginia Bixby Eltz; and a brother, David B. Bixby. Robert was a 1975 graduate of Hanover High School and was employed by Utz Quality Foods for 35 years. He had an engineering mind that was able to visualize and design various projects and was often used as a consultant. Gifted with his hands, he enjoyed restoring antique furniture and completing projects around the house.
Survivors include his brother, Chuck Bixby and his wife, Louise, of Parker, CO; a sister, Sarah Brown of Harrisburg; two nieces, Sarah and Kate; two nephews, William and Joseph; and cousins, Susan Mieritz, and her children, Ashton and Page, and Samuel Lesley and his daughter, Sondra.
A memorial service will be held in the future when the COVID pandemic has eased.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Salvation Army, 50 East King Street, York, PA 17401.
