Nyqee Cecelia Morris
May 6, 1963 - July 4, 2017
Cecelia Morris, 54 of Hanover, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 4th, 2017 at home. She was the loving wife of Smith Morris; together they shared 38 years of marriage.
Born Monday, May 6, 1963 in Liberia, located in West Africa, she was a daughter of the late Greah and Sally Garlo.
Cecelia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished spending time with her family and loved cooking for them at family gatherings. Cecelia came to the United States in 2003 and became a member of First United Methodist Church, where she worked as a custodian assistant. Thanks to her sponsors, Mr. Dale and Miss Betty Gordon of Hanover, Cecelia gained her citizenship in the United States of America in 2009.
In addition to her husband, Cecelia is survived by her seven children, Othello Morris, Patricia Morris, Redemption Morris, Mark Morris, Dickson Morris, Tebeh Morris, Bill Morris, her niece Esther Greah and 19 grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Cecelia was preceded in death by her sister, Esther Grreah and a brother, Dickson Garlo.
A service to celebrate the life of Cecelia Morris will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church, 200 Frederick St, Hanover, PA with Pastor Joshua Rhone officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Sunday, from 6-8 p.m. at the Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, and then again on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover. Pallbearers will be Redemption Morris, Mark Morris, Dickson Morris and Bill Morris.
