J. Mark Harl, 62, of Abbottstown and formerly of Germantown, MD, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at UPMC Pinnacle, Hanover. He was the loving husband of Jill A. (Campbell) Harl for 35 years.
Born December 24, 1955 in Bainbridge, MD, he was the son of the late Eben J. and Bena I. (Ling) Harl.
Mark was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, New Oxford. He was employed as a senior computer analyst for the U.S. Senate computer center for 33 years. Mark was a ham radio operator. He especially enjoyed following and studying the Apollo era space rocket program.
In addition to his wife Jill, Mark is survived by his daughter Emilie M. McCall and her husband Joe of Abbottstown and two granddaughters, Rachael Mya Harl and Lydia Alexandra McCall.
A service to celebrate the life of Mark Harl will be held at 10am, Thursday, May 24, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1170 Kohler Mill Rd., New Oxford, PA 17350 with Bishop Leonard Loski officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Thursday from 9am until the time of the service at church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.
