Obituary
After a burdensome two-year battle with multiple brain tumors caused by lung cancer, on October 29, 2022, Hazel Anderson of Hanover, Pennsylvania, passed from this life to be eternally with her Lord, Jesus Christ.
Born Hazel Cook in Sparta, North Carolina, June 8, 1953, Hazel married Rodney Keith in August 1971, and spent most of her life in and around the Bristol, Virginia/Tennessee, area before moving to Frederick, Maryland, in 2005 a few years after the death of her husband, Rodney in 2000. She then moved to Hanover after her marriage to Joe Anderson in January 2014.
Hazel spent her life in service to others, first in the restaurant business, later in the health care industry, and always in her personal life with both friends and family.
She was a dedicated and faithful member of Old Carroll Primitive Baptist Church in Point of Rocks, Maryland, and was blessed to understand that she was eternally saved, not by anything she had done, but solely, through the finished work of her Savior and His shed blood at the Cross of Calvary.
Hazel is survived by her husband Joe, daughter Lea Anne Tolbert (husband Michael), stepchildren Derek Anderson (wife Janelle), Lindsay Jenkins (husband Jeffrey), Kyle Anderson (wife Jamie), Brett Anderson (wife Heather), sisters Charlotte Wood and Tommie Randolph (husband Ronnie), over 30 grandchildren/great grandchildren, and numerous other family members, friends and church members, all of whom she so dearly loved.
Funeral services will be conducted by her Pastor, Elder Jonathan Cook, at 11:00 am on November 5 at Kenworthy Funeral Home, 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA. A time of viewing and condolence will be available from 10:00-11:00 before the funeral. Interment will be at 1:00 pm at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 725 Baltimore Street, Hanover. After the funeral, all are welcome for lunch and a time of fellowship at Hanover Community Church, 1959 Smith Station Road, Hanover, PA.
