James Lee "Jim" Curry, 63, of Spring Grove, died Friday, June 1, 2007, at Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of Gladys May (Dell) Curry.
Born April 13, 1944, in Pottsville, Jim was a son of the late Lawrence Lee and Velma (Lambert) Curry.
Jim drove truck for a number of trucking companies including Brothers Trucking, York. He enjoyed going to tractor pulls and was an avid NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan. Jim also enjoyed camping and fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Christine Jones of Thomasville, Brian Curry of Spring Grove, Richard Curry of Menges Mills, and Eugene Shank of Dover; four stepchildren, Brenda Stambaugh of Spring Grove, Sharon Hyser of Spring Grove, Tammy Stremmel of Spring Grove, and James Lawyer of Sanford, Fla.; eight brothers and sisters, George Curry of Manchester, Patricia Lindsey of Spring Grove, William Curry of Spring Grove, Anita Thomas of Spring Grove, Glen Curry of Hanover, Kevin Curry of Spring Grove, Preston Curry of Hanover, and Catherine LeFevre of Spring Grove; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with the Rev. Lou Ann Jones, of Bethel U.C.C., officiating. The viewing will be Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA 17331 to help the family with the funeral expenses.
