Jeanne E. Garvick, 89, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s Eternal Care Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center, Hanover, PA.
Born November 4, 1927, in Hanover, PA she was the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Mildred R. (Wintrode) Hufnagle. She was the loving wife of Richard C. Garvick with whom she shared seventy years of marriage this past April 9th.
Jeanne was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Hanover, PA. She was a member of the Hanover Elks Ladies Auxiliary and the Y Wives.
Jeanne worked as a secretary for Everybody’s Press and then Lincoln Bus Lines. She was a 1945 graduate of Eichelberger High School.
Jeanne was an avid bridge player and a very good bowler.
In addition to her loving husband, Richard, Jeanne is survived by her children, Jeffrey R. Garvick and his wife Susan of Hanover, PA and James A. Garvick and his wife Peggy of Hanover, PA; grandchildren, Stacey S. Koble, Patrick J. Garvick, Amy M. Lawrence, Heather L. Hockensmith, Jessica L. Overlander and Jami L. Himes; twelve great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Yvonne Miller and Stephanie Krumrine, both of Hanover, PA. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph M. Hufnagle, Sr and a sister, Jacqueline M. Walton.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Jeanne’s life will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Father Michael P. Reed, II officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
