Rev. Orrin O. Orewiler, Sr.

December 5, 1928 - March 23, 2010

Rev. Orrin O. Orewiler, Sr., 81, of Abbottstown, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Hanover Hospital. He was the loving husband of Miriam Joan (Eberhardt) Orewiler for 62 years.

Born December 5, 1928 in Richland Co., Ohio, he was a son of the late Charles C. and Mary Jane (Strickler) Orewiler.

Orrin was the Minister of The Foursquare Gospel Church, 518 Wilson Ave. Hanover for 33 years prior to retiring in 1997. He was a part time courier for Adams County National Bank. Rev. Orewiler, Sr. also oversaw the expansion of The Foursquare Gospel Church. He had a love for people and did extensive visitation in the York and Adams County areas.

In addition to his wife he is survived by six children; Edmund Orewiler and his wife Rebecca, Hanover, Linda J. Duck, Hanover, Carolyn Groft and her husband Edward, Abbottstown, Orrin O. Orewiler, Jr. and his wife Kathy, Hanover, Kevin D. Orewiler and his wife Cindy, Hanover and Kirby Orewiler and his wife Sheri, Spring Grove; three brothers, Rev. C. Elton Orewiler, Rev. Marvin Orewiler and Merle Orewiler; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Chase, Mrs. Evelyn Milligan and Mrs. Marilyn Carney; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. C. Olin Orewiler and Elwood Orewiler both from Ohio.

A service to celebrate the life of Rev. Orewiler, Sr., will be 11:00am Friday, March 26, 2010 at The Foursquare Gospel Church, 518 Wilson Ave., Hanover with Pastor Kevin D. Orewiler officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm Thursday at the Church and also from 10:00am until the time of service Friday at the church.

Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.
