Gerald E. Neiderer, 69, of Glenville, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Thursday, July 30, 2015 at home.
Born May 15, 1946 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late Richard J. and Mildred M. (Smith) Neiderer. Gerald was the loving husband of Mary J. (Smith) Neiderer with whom he shared thirty-one years of marriage.
Gerald was a 1964 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, Hanover, PA. He retired from Baltimore County Schools in 2007, where he was a building service worker for thirteen years. Prior to this, he was employed by Schindler Elevator Company of Gettysburg, PA for several years.
He was a member of the New Oxford Social Club, the Hanover VFW Post 2506, the McSherrystown Moose Lodge #720, the Home Association of McSherrystown, the Hanover Home Association and the Hanover AMVETS Post #22.
Gerald is survived by his children, Larry R. Neiderer and his wife Erika of Lancaster, PA, Jason R. Neiderer and his wife Lisa of Hanover, PA and Cynthia A. Coleman of New Oxford, PA; his step-children, Robert Coleman and his wife Lynne of Gray, ME, Charles W. Coleman of New Oxford, PA, Ronald L. Coleman of Thomasville, PA and Ida E. Knode and her husband Tom of Mapleton Depot, PA; seventeen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Susan A. Wagner and her husband Larry of New Oxford, PA and Janet Keffer and her husband Jack of Hanover, PA.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA with the Rev. Garry Sheaffer officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6-8 PM, Monday, August 3, 2015 and from 10-11 AM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Gerald's memory to the SPCA of Adam's County, 11 Goldenville Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
