Robert C. Martin, 84, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Sunday, May 2, 2021 at UPMC Hanover Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Born March 15, 1937, in Denver, CO, he was the son of the late Helen J. Martin. Robert was the loving husband of Barbara E. (Wilhide) Martin with whom he would have celebrated 64 years of marriage October 2021.
Robert was a graduate of the University of Maryland and served his country proudly in the Maryland National Guard from 1954 to 1965.
Robert was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA, and served on various church boards throughout his life.
Robert retired in 2004, as an Executive V.P. at Southern Galvanizing in Baltimore, MD, with over fifty years of service. He was a member of the National Association of Engineers, the American Society of Metals, the former board president and member of the American Galvanizers Association.
In addition to his loving wife, Barbara, Robert is survived by his daughters, Victoria L. Albizo and husband Joel of Chicago, IL, and Elizabeth J.H. Richardson and husband Bruce of Overlea, MD; five grandchildren, Nicolas Albizo, Julian Albizo, Hope Richardson, Harmony Richardson, and Haven Richardson; and a brother, Charles E. Rebstock of Buxton, NC. He was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Reinhardt and one grandchild, Noah Albizo.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Robert's life will be held 1:30 PM, Friday, May 7, 2021 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA with the Rev. Dr. Kathy Vitalis Hoffman and the Rev. Dr. Daniel M. Yeiser co-officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Robert's memory may be made to SpiriTrust Lutheran the Village at Utz Terrace, 2100 Utz Terrace, Hanover, PA 17331.
