Beatrice “Bea” M. Lightner, 89 of Hanover passed away peacefully Friday, June 28, 2013 at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover. She was the loving wife of the late Dale M. Lightner to whom she was married to for 51 years.

Born March 14, 1924 in Hanover, Bea was the daughter of the late Stewart P. and Myrtle (Emlet) Mehring.

Mrs. Lightner was a life member of the Hanover Home Assoc. She was also a member of the Moose and VFW Auxiliaries. Bea enjoyed shopping and traveling.

Surviving are her two daughters, Brenda J. Pooler and husband James of Hellam and Judy A. Green and husband John of Hanover; her three granddaughters, Terri M. Krebs and husband Darrin of Hanover, Traci L. Stahl and husband Derek Smith of Columbia, MD, and Angela R. Barnhart and husband Cornel of Hellam; and three great grandchildren, Brooke and Cameron Krebs and Nathan Barnhart.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Lightner will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 11 AM at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover, with Rev. Dr. Bruce P. Bouchard officiating. A time to share memories with family and an opportunity to view will be from 10 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.
