Arlene G. Coulson, 103, of Hanover, passed peacefully on Saturday morning, July 30, 2016 at Homewood at Plum Creek. She was the loving wife of John L. Coulson who passed away on August 21, 1990. Born March 4, 1913 in Hanover she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Ella (Hetrick) Van Waltersdorf.
Arlene was a lifelong member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Hanover. She was employed as a bookkeeper for a number of businesses in Hanover throughout her work life and was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE). Arlene enjoyed playing cards and bingo and especially loved spending time with family and friends at the family cottage.
Mrs. Coulson is survived by her son John G. Coulson and his wife Gail of Hanover; two grandchildren Brent G. Coulson and his wife Kristin of Hanover and Jan W. Biddulph-Krentar and her husband Brian of West Chester, PA; and five great grandchildren, William, Brendan and Emma Coulson and Dylan and Avery Biddulph-Krentar. She was predeceased by a brother Harvey Van Waltersdorf and two sisters, Hazel Wasson and Dorothy Spangler.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Arlene G. Coulson will be held at 11:00am on Friday, at the Homewood Chapel at Plum Creek, 425 Westminster Ave., Hanover, PA with Chaplain Austin L. Chinault officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30am until the time of the service Friday at the Chapel.
Burial will be private in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
