Doris L Rice, 93, died peacefully on February 17th, 2021 at her home in Hanover.
Doris was born June 4, 1927 in Hanover, PA, the daughter of the late Lester M. and Beulah M (Loyer) Wentz. She was the wife of the late George L. Rice who died October 27, 1980.
Doris was a member of a few social organizations in the area where she enjoyed listening to live bands and dancing with friends. She also had a great love for animals.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Melissa L. Clapper of Hanover, Pennsylvania, and David N Holland of Sarasota, Florida; four great grandchildren, Tyler Clapper, Hanover, Kaitlyn Holland, Sarasota FL, Alexander Clapper and Joshua Clapper both of Hanover; one great great grandchild, Avery Lee Clapper of Hanover; one brother Larry C. Wentz of York PA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her daughter, Diane Susan Rice and brother, E. Burnell Wentz.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover PA. There will be a graveside service for family and close friends on Thursday Feb 25th with her pastor Rev E. Robert Burkhart of St. Paul’s Church, York St., Hanover, PA officiating.
