Barbara A. Stitt, 80, of McSherrystown, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Saturday, July 15, 2023, at WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital, Gettysburg, PA.
Born April 3, 1943, in Kittanning, PA, she was the daughter of the late Rev. William E. and Helena M. (Shriver) Sullivan. Barbara was the loving wife of the late John C. Stitt with whom he shared thirty-six years of marriage until his passing on May 21, 2018.
Barbara graduated from Eichelberger High School, Hanover, PA, and then worked for the Penn Corp for many years.
Barbara enjoyed reading, weaving pot holders, and going on long car rides with her caregiver, Sandi. She was well-known at Saint Joseph Village for her homemade applesauce.
Barbara is survived by her friends and caregivers, Sandi Coppersmith and Randy Hann, both of Glen Rock, PA.
A funeral service will be held 11AM, Monday, July 24, 2023, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Bonnie J. Whittier officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A visitation will be held from 10-11AM, Monday, July 24, 2023, at the funeral home.
