Jack L. McLaughlin, 85, of McSherrystown, PA, went home to be with his sweetheart, Monday, February 14, 2022 at the UPMC Hanover Hospital.
Born March 10, 1936, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Jack S. and Emma P. (Little) McLaughlin. Jack was the loving husband of the late Audrey J. (Gross) McLaughlin with whom he shared fifty-six years of marriage until her recent passing on January 29, 2022.
Jack was a member of Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA.
Jack graduated from Eichelberger High School in 1954, where he played the saxophone in he band. He was a veteran of the United States Army and played in the Army Band.
Jack was employed for many years by the former Champion Chevrolet in the customer service department until his retirement.
Jack enjoyed cooking, playing the saxophone and spending time with his family and friends.
Jack is survived by his sister, Jean A. Wentz, a niece, Melissa Corrado and husband Edward; a nephew, Edward Wentz and wife Kathleen, great nieces and nephews, Nicolette Wentz, Anthony Wentz, Danielle Bulllock, Lucas Wentz, Andrew Cornado and Brandon Cornado, and Audrey’s cousins, June Weaver, Nancy Livingston, Donna Houser, and Rosemary Zepp.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date in April 2022. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Audrey’s memory may be made to Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church, 1398 Moulstown Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
