Mary Jane Reese, 83, of Hanover, passed peacefully Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Hanover Hall. She was the wife of Robert William Reese who died in 1954.
Born February 1, 1928 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late James R. and Helen M. (Felix) Smith.
Mrs. Reese was a past member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover. She was employed for a number of years with Bank of Hanover. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Jane is survived by two children; Pamela D. Myers and her husband Dwight, Glenville and Robert J. Reese and his wife Cheryl, Mechanicsburg, two sisters; Dorothy Buffington, Camden, N.J. and Joan Becker, Hanover, two brothers; Robert Smith, Hanover and James Smith, Parkersburg, W.V., four grandchildren; Laurel Fuhrman, Glenville, Holly Danilowicz, Spring Grove, Heather Myers, Glenville and Andrew Reese, Mechanicsburg, and two great grandchildren; Brody and Branson Fuhrman, Glenville. She was preceded in death by two brothers; John and Richard Smith.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Jane Reese will be held 7:00 pm Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011 at Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA with Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. A time to share memories with the family will be from 6 to7pm Wednesday evening prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family, in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.
