Frances M. Emmert, 84, died Sunday, September 16, 2007 at Manor Care South, York. She was the wife of Lester S. Emmert, who died January 30, 1999.
Born April 25, 1923 in Hanover, Frances was the daughter of the late Jessie William and Alma Arline (Bortner) Bair.
She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover and was employed as an R.N. at Hanover Hospital for 39 years, retiring in 1987. She trained at Hahnemann Hospital for the U. S. Nursing Cadet Corp. during World War II. She graduated from Friends Hospital in Northeast Philadelphia with a nursing degree. Frances was devoted to her family and grandchildren.
Surviving is a daughter, Carol Zutell of Seven Valleys; a son, Richard L. Emmert of Hanover; a brother, Richard Bair of Hanover; and two grandchildren, Jessica and Andrew Zutell.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover with Rev. Dr. Daniel M. Yeiser officiating. There will be a viewing 10:00-11:00 am, Thursday at Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover before proceeding to the cemetery in procession for the committal service.
Contributions may be made in Frances’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
