Byrle E. Wentz, 71, of Hanover, PA, died Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the Hanover Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Born April 2, 1941, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Herman and Hilda (Dull) Wentz. Byrle was the loving husband of Jean A. (McLaughlin) Wentz with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.
Byrle was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA, where he was active in the Boy Scout and Cub Scout Troops for many years.
Byrle was a 1959 graduate of Eichelberger High School. He served his country proudly in the United States Army as a MP from 1959 to 1962.
Byrle started his working career with Snyder's of Hanover as a district manager for 21 years and then worked for Utz Quality Foods, Inc. for 22 years as a sales representative.
Byrle enjoyed bird watching, going to the theater and musicals, and traveling to Florida to see his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Byrle is survived by one son, Edward A. Wentz and wife Kathleen Rose of Westminster, MD, one daughter, Melissa A. Corrado and husband Edward Jr. of Oviedo, FL, six grandchildren, Nicolette Wentz, Anthony Wentz, Danielle Wentz, Lucas Wentz, Andrew Corrado and Brandon Corrado.
Following Cremation a memorial service to celebrate and remember Byrle's life will be held 11 AM Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 127 York Street, Hanover, PA, with Rev. E. Robert Burkhart officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA. The family will receive friends and share memories from 10 to 11 AM, Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the church. The Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard will provide Military Honors. A reception will be held back at the church following the burial.
