Joseph E. Brown, 69, of Hanover, husband of Mary L. Karlus Brown, died into eternal peace on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Hanover Hospital.
Born on June 13, 1941 in Adams County, he was a son of the late James E. and Mary Costello Brown. He was a member of the Harold H. Bair American Legion Post #14, Sons of the American Legion, faithfully serving as the Sergeant at Arms. He was a hard working man and was last employed by T. Baird McIlvain, Inc. He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife of 17 years, he is survived by a step-daughter whom he loved as his own, Brenna Leigh Grove of New Oxford; a brother, John Brown and his wife, Betty of Mossy Head, FL; two sisters, June E. Black of Manchester, MD and Joan Yeater of Miami, FL; brother-in-law, Peter Karlus and his wife, Julie of Hanover and many nieces and nephews.
The graveside service will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Mount Olivet Cemetery with The Rev. Patricia Leader officiating.
