Joyce M. (Fishel) Simpson, 68, of Hanover, died Thursday, March 29, 2007 at her residence. She was the loving wife of Averill L. Simpson.
Born May 16, 1938, in Dillsburg, she was a daughter of the late Melvin and Ethel (Walker) Fishel.
Joyce attended Trinity United Church of Christ, Hanover. She worked as a personnel assistant at SKF, Hanover, for over twenty years until retiring in 1994. Joyce was a member of the Women of the F.O.E. #1406, Hanover, Women of the Hanover Moose Lodge #227, and the Hanover Home Association. In her free time, Joyce loved to roller-skate, attend Polka Festivals and German Festivals, and putting puzzles together.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two brothers, Melvin Fishel, Jr., of New Cumberland, PA, and Dale Fishel, of Marysville, PA; and two sisters, Evelyn Reed, of Fayetteville, PA, and Lois Burger, of New Cumberland, PA. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Leon Fishel.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with Rev. Bradley E. Rentzel officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.
Serving as pallbearers will be Buddy Fletchman, Butch Fletchman, Bob Fletchman, Dale Fishel, Steven LeFevre, and Kenneth Simpson.
