Clyde E. Martin, age 80, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2012 at Hanover Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Anna Mae J. (Hersh) Martin; together they shared over 61 years of marriage. Clyde was born in Hanover on October 21, 1931 and was the only child of the late Earl Martin and Effie (Bortner) Martin. He worked for Shepherds Foundry in Hanover for over 42 years. He was a handy man and could fix anything. He enjoyed traveling and RVing with his wife; together they visited 45 of the United States. He was also a member of the Hanover AARP. In addition to his wife Anna Mae, his is survived by many nieces and nephews. A funeral service in celebration of his life will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service PC, 175 N. Main St. Spring Grove with Rev. Fred Mummert officiating. He will be laid to rest following the service at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Hanover. A viewing will be held on Monday from 10-11 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Clyde’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
