Pearl B. Myers, 86 of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the Brethren Home Community, New Oxford. She was the wife of Lawrence E. Myers who died on September 4, 1967.
Born March 7, 1927 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Joseph K. and Sarah E. (Jacobs) Byrd.
Pearl was a long time member of Lohr’s Memorial United Methodist Church and now First United Methodist Church, Hanover. She managed the local Hanover Credit Bureau, years ago, before becoming the manager of the Leader Store in downtown Hanover. More recently she was employed with Kleffel’s Clothing Store for a number of years retiring in 1994. Pearl also enjoyed reading.
Mrs. Myers is survived by her son, Neil A. Myers, Hanover; a nephew James Buckley of Lineboro, MD; a niece, Patricia Weaver of Colorado; a great-niece, Lisa Buckley Ward of Lineboro. MD and a great-nephew, Michael Buckley of Hanover. She was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Byrd, Jr. and a half-sister Lorenna Buckley.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 at 10:00am at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 725 Baltimore St., Hanover, PA with Pastor Gregory Rapp officiating.
