Charles J. Wagaman, 82, of New Oxford, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018, at the Brethren Home Community in New Oxford. Born November 1, 1935 in Hanover, he was the son of Crawford and Bessie (Yohe) Wagaman. Charles was retired from the U.S. Postal Service with over 30 years of service. He was a 1954 graduate of Eichelberger High School, a life member of the Amvets, American Legion, VFW, Republican Club, Hanover Home Assoc., McSherrystown Moose and Littlestown Eagles. Charles proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Surviving are three children, Tony Wagaman and wife Pat of Hanover, Mitchell Wagaman and wife Anita of Red Lion and Trudy Wagaman Fitz of Blue Ridge Summit; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Derrick Wagaman. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2018 at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave. McSherrystown with Rev. Charles L. Persing officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover with military honors provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. Friends and relatives will be received Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be: Tony Wagaman, Mitch Wagaman, Brock Wagaman, Millard Day, Bob Adams and Joel Carlyle.
