John C. Leinart, 89, of New Oxford, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Brethren Home Retirement Center.
Born January 22, 1925 in Hampton, Adams County, PA, he was the son of the late John C. and Anna M. (Hoover) Leinart. He was the loving husband of Kathleen M. (Rabenstine) Leinart with whom he shared 67 years of marriage.
John was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA.
John worked as a truck driver for AAA and D.K. Hershey until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of the Hanover Elks Lodge #763, where he was a past exalted ruler.
In addition to his wife Kathleen, John is survived by his daughters; June C. Weaver and husband Warren of Hanover, PA, Nancy L. Livingston and husband Fred of Dillsburg, PA, three grandchildren; Jerome Weaver and wife Judy, Rick Livingston and wife Annette, Barbara Cool and husband Brian, 8 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember John will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA with Rev. Timothy J. Kielley officiating. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 9:30 to 11 Am, Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund of the Brethren Home, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, PA 17350 or St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 127 York Street, Hanover, PA 17331
