Services: A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 West Chestnut St., Hanover.
Visitation: Visitation will be in the church parlor from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning.
Irl W. Trone, 80, of Hanover entered into God's eternal care 12:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon, June 24, 2007 at The Brethren Home Community, New Oxford. He was the husband of Miriam Mim Klinedinst Trone to whom he married September 27, 1958. Born in Hanover on April 14, 1927, he was the son of the late Burnell and Hilda Witmer Trone. Following graduation from Eichelberger High School in 1945, Irl joined the Navy and served his country as a Seaman First Class during World War II. After the war, he attended Linotype school in Louisville, KY and upon his return to Hanover accepted a position with the Hanover Evening Sun as a Liontype Operator. Irl eventually obtained employment at Arentz Oil and worked mostly in their Customer Service Dept. for 30 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, the Hanover Lions Club where he was a past president and Secretary and Hanover Elks Lodge #763. Irl was well thought of by all who knew him and will also be sadly missed by his brother Witmer Jack and wife Anna Trone of Hanover, Brother-in-law Donald and wife Patricia Klinedinst of York, sister-in-law S. Squirt Carr of Demoines, IA, Brother-in-law Kenneth and wife Josephine Klinedinst of Hanover, also nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Janet Trone. A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 West Chestnut St., Hanover. Visitation will be in the church parlor from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning. The Rev. Matthew B. Pensinger will officiate. Burial will be private at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contirbutions may be made to the St. Matthew Lutheran Church Building Fund, 30 West Chestnut St., Hanover, PA 17331.
