Doris M. “Dori” Whisler, 88 of Hanover, passed peacefully on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Homewood at Plum Creek.
Born April 9, 1927 in Hanover she was the daughter of the late Martin L. and Annie E. (Wildasin) Whisler.
Dori was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Hanover where she was very active as an Historian, taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir for many years. She was employed with Buchen, Wise and Dorr, Attorneys at Law, Hanover for 39 years retiring in 1992.
Dori is survived by her brother, Merle H. “Joe” Whisler of Hanover and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters; Richard, Kenneth “Ken”, Martin “PeeWee”, Clair “Bill”, Laverne “Bud”, and Clyde “Dup” Whisler, Mildred “Noot” Conrad, Effie “Eff” Eisenberger, Thelma “Dean” Markle and Mary “Chum” Whisler.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Dori Whisler will be held at 4:00pm Saturday, January 9th at Grace United Church of Christ, 100 Fourth St., Hanover, PA with Rev. Dr. Bruce P. Bouchard officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at a reception with light refreshments to be held at Grace church.
Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover at the convenience of the family.
