Obituary
Born on Friday, October 8, 1948 in Hanover, he was a son of Ferne C. Stonesifer, who lovingly cared for him during his brief illness, and the late Harry C. Stonesifer. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Cathy Stonesifer. Randy was a 1966 graduate of Hanover High School, DeVry University of Chicago and the Institute of Computer Technology in Baltimore. He served his country proudly as a member of the US Army, during the Vietnam War, and was also a 30 year retiree of the Army Reserves. He was a loyal and dedicated lifelong member of the Grace United Church of Christ in Hanover.
Randy retired from Pitney Bowes as a field service technician and his part-time job at Weis Markets where he cherished his friendships with Ben, Larry and Donna. He will be remembered for his kind and caring ways. Randy helped many people in need during his life. He was a Big Brother to Tom Moose, which fostered a long-term relationship. For more than 30 years, Randy and his brother, Jeff, enjoyed attending minor league baseball games in different areas of the country. He was quite a baseball player himself in his youth; a natural and gifted athlete with a perfect golf swing.
In addition to his mother, Randy is survived by his two brothers, Jeffrey C. Stonesifer and his wife, Karen, and Michael A. Stonesifer and his wife, Stephanie; a sister, Carol S. Wallen and her husband, Dave; nieces and nephews, Heidi Abbe Stonesifer, Jon Stonesifer and his wife, Carla, Shannon Stauffer and her husband, Tim, Jared Stonesifer, Mitchell Stonesifer and his wife, Kendra, Nicklaus Stonesifer, and Lyndsey, Kelsey, and Cassandra Wallen; and five great nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Randy’s life will be held at 1 pm Monday, January 16, 2017 at Grace United Church of Christ, 100 Fourth Street, Hanover with The Rev. Robin S. Keating officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be held privately in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
