Macleta R. “Sis” Dubs, 91, of New Oxford, formerly of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Cross Keys Village- The Brethren Home Community.
Born on Tuesday, November 24, 1925 in East Berlin, she was a daughter of the late William G. Reichert, Sr. and Mabert G. Criswell Reichert. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Wilfert J. Dubs, who died in 2015; a sister, Arlene Rinehart; and a brother, William Reichert, Jr.
A 1945 graduate of East Berlin High School, Sis worked at the Doubleday Company until her retirement in 1985. She was an active member of Trinity United Church of Christ and devotedly attended the former “Friendly Mothers” Sunday school class. She volunteered for Toys for Tots and P.A.L. and was also a member of AARP #2812.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Dubs and his wife, Deborah, and Terry Dubs and his wife, Debra; two grandchildren, Katelyn Groft and her husband, Steven, and Kendall Dinterman and her husband, Joshua; two step-grandchildren, Teresa Loveless and her husband, James, and Heather Nicholson; one great-grandchild, Camdyn Dinterman; seven step-great-grandchildren, Brittany, Nikki, Jeremiah, and Abigail Eyler, Jordan and Jenna Matthews, and Sarah Loveless; three step-great-great-grandchildren, Cataleya, Xzavier, and Toretto Rodriguez; one sister-in-law, Dolly Reichert; and one brother-in-law, Raymond Dubs.
A funeral will be held at 11am on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Peg Grzelkowski officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
