Mary A. Sullivan

Mary A. Sullivan, 82, of Hanover, passed peacefully at home with her loving family by her side, Saturday, May 1, 2010. She was the loving wife of Robert W. Sullivan for 56 years.
Born September 9, 1927 in West Allis, Wisconsin, she was a daughter of the late John F., Sr. and Evelyn O. (Terwilliger) Sullivan.
Mary attended Chicago Technical Institute where she studied to be a Laboratory Technician. She was employed for a number of years with Nevin Seitz, MD, Hanover. Mrs. Sullivan was a member of Hanover First Church of God. One of her favorite hobbies was being an artist, especially doing oil paintings of nature. She studied for many years under the guidance of local artist David Leese. She also enjoyed camping, and bus tours with the Silver Threads from church, traveling extensively throughout the United States.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two children, Gail Toomey and her husband Michael, Hanover and Ronald W. Sullivan and his wife Kelly, Hanover; one sister, Donna J. Ortinau, Fox River, IL; two step-sisters, Carol A. Indermuehle, and Terry L. Sellers; two step brothers, David L. Sellers and Gary C. Sellers; six grandchildren, Shaun, Dustin, Tanya, Becky, Nicole and Christopher; and one great grandson, Cooper. She was preceded in death by three brothers Robert I., John F., Jr. and Herbert L. Sellers and her step-mother Irene (Letson) Sellers.
A service to celebrate the life of Mary will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, May 5, at Hanover First Church of God, 600 Fairview Dr., Hanover with Pastor Dan Thomas and Pastor Clair W. Shorb officiating. A time to express condolences and share memories with the family will be Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00am prior to the service at church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover. Pallbearers will be Ronald Sullivan, Dustin Sullivan, Shaun Sullivan, Michael Toomey, Chris Toomey, Niki Toomey and Butch Landis.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Sullivan’s memory may be made to VNA/Hospice, 440 N. Madison St., Hanover, PA 17331.
